Artist Of The Year 2019!!!
Eeeek how amazing is that?
That’s the award I won on 1 February in the People Genre at The Guild Awards at Crewe Hall. Along with Top Artist of the Year and Picture of the Year!
I am over the moon to say the least. I have a year left to enter competitions to focus on my clients, so it was a great way to end the year and go out with a lot of excitement.
Not only did I win my trophies I can’t wait to add to my collection. I have won over a wide range of printers from Epson So thank you Epson for your amazing prize.
Press release
International Recognition for Local Nottingham Artist Sarah Wilkes has gained international recognition by winning a major award from the (Professional) Artists Association.
The Guild is a prestigious professional photography organization whose members are dedicated to the advancement of their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.
It runs the Image of the Month Competition, and received almost 13,000 entries in 2018, from artists in the UK and overseas!
Each photo is scored, and the year’s results are tallied to determine who wins one of the Guild’s Top 10 Photographer / Guild Photographer of the Year awards.
This is obviously a very difficult year-round process!
Sarah was honored as People’s Artist of the Year, the finalist for one of her works in the Classical Portraiture category and Artist of the Year for 2019!
A remarkable achievement when one considers the number and standard of the records.
Their award was presented to them at the Guild’s Awards night at Crewe Hall (a stunning Jacobean mansion in Cheshire), earlier this week.
Lesley Thirsk (Team Leader) said – they are
“Proud and happy that Sarah has received this recognition after 12 months of submitting high-quality photos. The group has very strict standards for judging photo contests. The judging is done by a group of world-renowned professionals from different photo genres, so Sarah should enjoy what she does amazingly and for the members to do their best. The journey of continuing professional development.”
