Just because it’s “machine washed” doesn’t mean careless.
Now you’ve got your cozy Minky blanket… Before you panic (or throw it in hot water with a prayer), here’s how to wash it good-and stay soft for years.
1. Cold Water Is Your Friend
Hot water? Bad things.
Cold water? Perfect.

We know it’s tempting, but fabric softeners and fabric dryers coat the fibersmaking them dry or oily. Instead, use:
3. Dry Like a Pro
Here is the magic combination:
High temperature = melted fiber. Don’t do that. If it takes a long time to dry, it just means that it’s been looking good.
4. Shake After Drying
Once dry, shake your blanket lightly to loosen the fibers and restore that fresh-off-the-shelf feel. No fancy equipment is required – just hands and a little skill.
5. Bathe Alone (or with Another Minky)
Minky plays well with… Minky. Not jeans. Not towels. Not Velcro. Wash on its own or with other soft, matching fabrics to avoid snags or pilling.
FAQ: Washing Minky
Can I use vinegar or baking soda?
Yes! A half cup of white vinegar in the wash cycle will help keep it fresh and static free.
What if it’s really ugly?
Clean the area first with mild soap and cold water. Then do a normal cold shower.
Can I invite you?
No. Not at all. Just… no.
