Introduction to Organic Formula – My Organic Formula

Every brand of milk tells you that they are providing healthy, wholesome milk for your baby. But when you look at the back of a box of store-bought formula? All you see are add-ons with strange names and lots of confusing numbers.

You’re not sure what you want for your child…but how do you know what to give them? Are organic formulas really different from store-bought formulas?

Short answer: yes, it’s very different.

Long answer: it depends on the organic formula. Almost all organic milk is healthier and closer to breast milk than conventional milk, but not all are created equal.

What is the difference with the European organic formula?

European brands of organic formula must meet the strictest international standards. This means they are 100% free of additives, GMOs, hormones and pesticides.

Although many store-bought varieties contain fewer additives than conventional ingredients, and some do not contain GMOs, they do not have to meet strict European standards and are often less natural and less nutritious.

If you want to be sure that your baby is getting natural, gentle, nutritious milk that is as close to real breast milk as possible, European brands can provide it.

What’s in your bottle of formula?

Where does it come from and how is it made?

European brands of organic formula (such as HiPP, Holle and Loulouka), must meet the strictest international standards to be certified. This means that it is always natural and sustainably produced (exactly what you would expect from an organic brand).

You will be able to see, on the label, the exact farm where your baby’s milk comes from (and they are all sustainable farms fed by happy, grazing cows and goats).

And some types of formula go further. Made in Germany, Holle meets Demeter’s strict standard for biodynamic farming, so you know it’s made using farming methods that are in harmony with the planets. And Lebenswert is certified by Bioland – Germany’s oldest association of organic producers.

How nutritious are they?

European organic formula brands use research-based recipes and natural ingredients based on breast milk as much as possible. This means that breast milk is rich enough, designed to give your baby everything it needs to grow up healthy and happy.

Every milk in the My Organic Formula {{link}} store contains essential proteins, fats and carbs to provide complete nutrition while being gentle and easy to digest.

The contents are additional

Store-bought oils (even if they are organic) often contain hidden additives like corn syrup and soy that are not always approved by the FDA. Not only is this often difficult for children to digest, which can lead to pregnancy instability, it can lead to health problems and lead to obesity in the future.

European organic formula is free of harmful sweeteners and additives – so you know your baby is off to a great start.

European organic formula brands

Although all European formulas are natural, free of additives and nutritional supplements, not all brands or ingredients are exactly the same. Like regular formula milk, organic formulations come in different sizes for newborns, or older babies from six to 12 months plus.

Most are made from cow’s milk, but some are goat’s milk, which most babies find easier to digest. There are also special options for children who have a cough or intolerance, or who suffer from colic and irregular bowels.

Quick brand guide

HiPP

The HiPP family has been making baby formula since 1899, when they needed to find a way to breastfeed their babies who had difficulty breastfeeding.

Since then, it has grown into a pioneer of organic farming, and all HiPP milk is still produced using the milk of pasture-raised German cows.

HiPP has three versions: German, Dutch and UK. They all offer the same nutritious organic milk, with slightly different ingredients. German and Dutch HiPP milks include probiotics made from real breast milk, and most German HiPP milks include organic solids for extra flavor and sweetness (perfect for hungry babies!).

HiPP also makes a special formula for babies with colic, reflux and allergies.
