The British Photography Awards – Following on from my last blog post (yes I know I’m terrible at posting)
On the 28th of January he saw me going to London at the Savoy for The British Photography Awards.
Now I’m used to going to parties at night now but I knew this one was very special because it was very popular and we were told that there would be a lot of famous people, so it was all very exciting.

After 180 years of British art, the most important cultural, black award showcases and celebrates the best talent in the industry. With guests from all walks of life in the beautiful Lancaster Ballroom, the night will be full of artistic talent. We will have famous artists, photographers, industry celebrities and artists all selected from our national competition. On top of this, there will be heads of organizations, assistants and others; from journalists to parliamentarians.
Guests receive a red carpet welcome and are given photos. A champagne reception precedes the dinner hosted by a celebrity MC and guest speakers. With entertainment and a delicious three-course meal served in the perfect setting, the night couldn’t be better.
Photographers receiving awards, such as Associateships and the British Photographic Fellowship Award add more faces to the night. On top of this, there will be our esteemed industry judges, school board members, union leaders, top journalists, politicians, and dignitaries with you throughout the night. The competition represents an important event in the history of British Photography and promises to be a great night of business and celebration created by veterans.
With a champagne reception, entertainment, guest speakers, a photo exhibition, awards dinner and parties all rolled into one, the evening is a great opportunity to meet some of the most famous people in British photography and meet the top photos and stories of this year’s short film.
Knowing the nature of your local artist, the party should be an event in itself, with The Savoy’s renowned hospitality running well into the night for all to enjoy.
On the side of the evening, in order to boost the money already collected for the charity through the national competition, there will be a charity sale of lots with pictures, including autographs of famous doctors and many other things on offer.

My team came and I can’t believe that’s the name that was mentioned! I did this and was crowned British Photographer Of The year at the photo booth!! What a victory! I was interviewed and the next day my picture was on TV!!! Eeeeh ha-ha!!! He was surprised!
I love how competitive shooting has helped my career and helped me achieve more with my photography than I ever imagined!
