Lactamo is very grateful to be selected as one of 34 companies receiving support from the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources through AusIndustry’s Boosting Female Founders Initiative.
The program provides financial support to women entrepreneurs who have started small businesses to expand their domestic and international markets. The program also provides expert advice and counselling.
Governments around the world understand the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, not only for the health of children, but also for the health of women, people, and the economy as a whole. “Every dollar invested in promoting and supporting breastfeeding generates $35 in long-term economic benefits.” (UNICEF, 2017)
This sponsorship of Lactamo by the Federal Government is an example of the Government taking the lead and supporting breastfeeding leadership and women in business. I am proud to live in a country with such progressive support for innovation and entrepreneurship.
With this important support Lactamo is happy to expand its business, to provide more women with the best information and the best success in breastfeeding, if breastfeeding is their choice.
