Do you know someone who is expecting a bundle of joy soon? Maybe it’s your best friend, family member, spouse, or even yourself! Whoever they are, you may find yourself planning a baby shower, and it goes without saying that you want this day to be special for them (or yourself). You want everyone to have a fun, unforgettable time celebrating this special moment in life. But you may not be sure how to get started or know what you need to do to plan your baby shower. Fear not, Baby Cubby is here! We’ve put together a guide to everything you need to create a smooth, fun, and perfect baby shower for the special mom in your life!
Plan Ahead
Do everything you can in advance. I’m a big believer that the more time you have to prepare for a baby shower, the less time you have to worry about it. You won’t have enough time to go through the details, and you’ll be able to find everything you want, such as menus, decorations, and more! Also, be aware that menstruation usually occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Choose a Time, Date, and Location
When choosing a time and place for a baby shower, we highly recommend talking to the expectant mother herself to find out what day and time will work best for her. Ask him which day and time would be convenient for him and the people he would like to invite, including his close friends and family.
Try to choose a place that is close to him or where his close friends or relatives live. You should also consider the weather when choosing your location. If you’re going to be outside, bring an indoor pool in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. Pay attention to what the temperature will be like, and think about whether it will be comfortable for your guest of honor.
When considering the venue, think about the number of people you have invited. If you are planning to have a large party, you may want to rent a venue that will accommodate a large party; or if they are friendly guests, you can hold it in a park, in a house, or even a place with a small house. Make sure there is enough space to eat, sit, and enjoy comfortably.
Make an Invitation
There are many ways to create fun baby shower invitations. You can easily create one using a template from Canva.com, order from Walmart or Etsy, or create your own on Google Docs and print it at your local Fedex Print. Remember, ordering doesn’t have to be expensive! There are many simple, beautiful templates out there and inexpensive ways to print them, or upload them electronically.
Even when you create your invitation, make sure that everything about the baby shower is clear. Make sure the time, place, and date can be easily read and understood. It is also important to include where the expectant mother was registered if she has a child registry. This will help your guests know where to buy gifts and what especially the mother who will be looking for.
Be sure to RSVP to the invitation so you know how many guests you can plan, and how much of everything you’ll need. There are websites you can use to see who is coming, just like when you make baby shower invitations through Facebook.
Mmake sure you don’t send out invitations until you know everything. Invitations are usually sent out 4-6 weeks before the shower to give guests enough time to prepare and get the gifts.
Think Food
It is often customary for the baby shower to give some kind of foodwhether it’s a snack or a meal. What you serve depends when you will be holding the baby shower. If you’re serving 10 am, 12-1 pm, or 5 pm, people will expect that you’re serving real food and not something light because that’s when people usually eat.
If you don’t want to serve food, you can choose a time between those hours or just mention it in the invitation. refreshments and snacks will be provided so people know what to expect. There can be many snacks that are easy to have on hand, such as small finger sandwiches, a charcuterie board, a fruit cart, or other desserts. The thoughts because food at a baby shower is endless!
Select a Theme
No, the head is not importantbut it’s something to think about because it can make a baby shower even more beautiful! Your title can be anything from sweet words, a meator even a shadow of color. The theme can be based on what parents or grandparents enjoy doing, or even their favorite childhood book. You can create interesting ideas for this theme by seeing what women like to make it more unique.
There are small ways you can incorporate this theme through your decor. On the actual day of the party, whether you are planning to make it modern or special, make sure you give yourself plenty of time before the party starts decorating.
Fun Choices
