International Biomedical has proudly sponsored the AAMS Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Award of Excellence since 2010. This prestigious award recognizes an individual or group that has made a significant contribution to the field of neonatal/pediatric transport in any of the following areas: improving safety, education, leadership, or patient advocacy by creating or promoting improvements in patient care. International Biomedical is proud to announce Dr. Kelli Lund and the University of Utah AirMed Neonatal Team in Salt Lake City, Utah, as recipients of the AAMS Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Excellence Award.
Dr. Kelli Lund is the medical director of the pediatric aviation team and the TeleNICU program. His innovative approach to combining these two specialties has created a body of work unmatched in scope and impact.
Dr. Kelli Lund and the University of Utah AirMed Neonatal Team have developed a ground-based model that integrates the TeleNICU program with the neonatal flight team, which allows for quick consultation with specialists and rapid transport of patients during critical emergencies. Through real-time video monitoring, coordinated flight control, and advanced training for rural nurses, their program bridges the gap between remote hospitals and higher education, improving neonatal outcomes and changing the standard of care across the region.
