New Northern VA shoot- I was so excited for this couple to welcome their little boy! I was involved in photographing the older brother when he was a baby and in his first year. It was wonderful to see them in my studio again!
Working with siblings may seem like a gamble, but the way older siblings interact with their newborns is so sweet. This older brother was calm and attentive, wanting to hold her and hold her tightly. Their special moments together were so amazing. Funnily enough, this little guy weighed almost ten pounds at birth!
Mom and her older brother were dressed in pieces from my studio wardrobe. Mom’s look was paired with Sue Minskey’s amazing makeup. It’s such a joy for women to do their own makeup, and doing your own makeup is so special. With a baby and toddler, things can be confusing to say the least! It’s nice to be able to relax and take special care of yourself when you can.
The light from my studio windows always creates a beautiful and calming environment – perfect for newborns. I’ve talked about how much I love my new studio space, and the window seats are one of those reasons! Trees and shrubs bring out the most amazing natural elements in the pictures. I love how well it goes with the styling of this piece.
