Breastfeeding service – help improve long-term breastfeeding, share stories and get into the picture. – Karen Kimmins New Photographer

Emma’s breastfeeding story –

I remember the first few times I had to breastfeed in public. I was so scared I either hid in the changing room or made a tent around me!
But when I got over it (and realized that no one was watching!) I started to enjoy it, the feeling that I was helping my girl grow and how it helped her feel safe and stable – it helped a lot with my overall self-esteem. As my confidence grew I was able to even eat food and drink coffee at the same time as feeding.

The second time around it has been different. My daughters discharge, discharge, sore nipples, really threw me off.
I realize every baby is different but after 5 weeks I seem to be broken, you can’t beat the small steps forward and the connection you feel when you feed makes the sleepless nights and leaking nipples worth it!
