The stunning lavender field in the family tree at Frederick Maryland’s Springfield Manor is one of my favorite traditions each year. In early summer for me, these fragrant flowers glow in shades of purple and green, making for the perfect backdrop for sunset family photos. People ask me every year, are you in Maryland? It’s totally unbelievable how it looks outside of France or other exotic places – but yes this is right there in Frederick Maryland! I love the small farms and unique crops that our town produces, and I love that they provide this special place for us to hang out and photograph beautiful families like this!

That was one of the best hot sunsets there! The lavender field was in full glory, which made for a perfect summer evening with these sweet boys. I loved their clothes, and they loved smelling the flowers, seeing the cool bees flying around pollinating, and walking through the meadow and vineyard nearby. This family was beautiful together and we had a very special night enjoying the lavender fields together.
