Although my preference is for parents to book their newborn photography session as early as their second trimester, sometimes it just isn’t possible. Here is the email I received when baby Everly was 10 weeks old:
My daughter was born September 18th at 32.5 weeks. He was released from the hospital earlier this month.
We want to find his baby photos.
However, he is a very light sleeper and I am a little concerned that he is not sleeping enough to be seen.
My point is not to refuse a child to attend a session, even if they are “too old” to have a newborn. I promise a beautiful environment, although I can’t guarantee a good night’s sleep, and my clients always appreciate this.
The mother had many complications and surgeries during her pregnancy. In fact, the heart team at the University of Maryland was not sure that mother and child would survive the trip. Fortunately and miraculously, baby Everly was delivered at 32.5 weeks and was released from the hospital two months later in perfect health!
The birth of a baby is always a miracle, and during this photo shoot I felt so connected to the magic of a new baby! Everly was 12 pounds strong, and I kept her clothed most of the time. At the end of the photo shoot, the parents were in tears, thanking me for the beautiful photos, as they were afraid that they missed the wonderful opportunity of newborn photos.
Enjoy these pictures of Everly, the beautiful miracle baby!
