What started out as part of a fledgling home life ended up in a beautiful redwood forest. It’s not often that I go out to photograph small children outdoors but in this case, it was a good choice. We did this partly because this baby boy was a bit older than the newborns I photograph and also because we wanted nature pictures. I suggested a beautiful redwood grove near my client’s home in Berkeley and it turned out to be magical. I was so happy to meet this sweet couple and had so much fun in the three hours we spent together.

The real beauty of newborn photography is that there is no limit to what the parts should be. There are no rules, no form or best time. Every family is different and the results will be different. It is as unique as it should be because it shows each family’s story in a real and honest way. In this case, the child was only two months old. She had the most beautiful smile and voice that you don’t see with new babies. His parents were able to work with him and create unforgettable moments that gave these beautiful pictures. Don’t feel like it’s too late to take pictures of your baby. There are no set rules. Babies are beautiful in every stage and moments are too precious and too long to miss.
