Baby Sorrill HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!
SEE YOU!!!!! We received the first call on Tuesday morning (September 13) that the expectant mother who saw our profile yesterday chose us to be the parents of her child. A BOY!!! And it’s due January 16!! Be calm my heart we will have a BABY!!! We are both scared and over the moon excited! When the girl from the agency tells me how happy this expectant mother is about us, I just say “What? What? US??? Are you SERIOUS??” Lol he probably thought I was crazy, and deaf.

We can’t believe that this happened so quickly. We matched in THREE SHORT BOOKS!!! Guys, this is unheard of! I didn’t think we would have to wait so long, but I was pleasantly surprised that it happened so quickly! All I can say is that God is VERY GOOD!! Having four months to prepare for a baby boy is good for us and Wes should be planning placement interviews in the next few months. I don’t think the timing could have been better and I feel like God has our backs on this.
So I want to just wonder about time for a minute longer. April was the month we had the most intense discussion about parenting and whether it was the right thing to do. My heart was SO drawn to take it. I felt so strongly that we had to adopt and I remember being desperate. And it was fast! We couldn’t wait, we had to start now! April is the month our son was born. When our son was being created, I heard God telling us that now was the time. Fast forward 4 months to when we started working with our agencies…and three weeks later our son has found us, and we have found him.
I still can’t believe it….
We’ve gotten a lot of questions over the past few days. So here are the answers!
Where will the baby be born? The baby will be born in Florida!
Will we meet pregnant women? Yes!! We hope to have a conference call with him and a member of his organization soon. He also asked us if we could go to Florida to meet him in a month or two so he could get to know us better!
What information do we have about the birth family? This is confidential. It’s difficult not to disclose information to anyone, especially to me as a shareholder, but we respect the privacy of our child’s future. This is HIS story and HIS story alone to tell. We don’t want people to know about his first family and any gossip with anyone who doesn’t know this yet. When he grows up, if he wants to tell people about his birth family, he can. But for now, what is important is that a strong, brave, incredibly loving and selfless woman is making the difficult decision that she wants her child to have a better life than what she can give him, and she wants the US to give him that life.
What’s next? Now we have to prepare with the nest! We also have a lot of money left to do. Most of the adoption money was due up front but we still have a lot of money to raise before we put it in, and we’ll be in Florida for 2 weeks after the birth so we’ll have a lot of travel money. If any of you feel in your heart that you want to help us, either financially or in prayer, we will be eternally grateful!!
How can we pray? PLEASE pray for a precious mother carrying a baby boy. Pray that he will feel more peace in his decision with us. Pray that the baby boy will continue to grow and do well and be healthy. And please pray for us as we prepare to become parents!!
