Rainbow Baby Artist | Paraphrasing Luke

Meira, Luke, Liana & the beautiful family who love you so much,

There are some scenes that stay with me long after I pick up my camera, and this was one of them. Welcoming baby Luke into the world was fun, exciting, emotional, and perfect all at the same time. Your family has such incredible strength and grace, and to be invited in this season to write about your love was truly an honor that I will not take lightly.

Little Luke, your name didn’t feel right. The name Luke comes from the Greek name Loukas and is often associated with “giver of light” or “bringer of light,” and honestly, this rings true for you already. From the moment I saw you, there was this sense of peace surrounding you. Tiny little fingers curled up against your parents’ hands, sleepy newborn stretches, soft cuddles with your big sister… every moment felt filled with gentleness and gratitude. You are so loved.

And sweet Liana… what a beautiful big sister! The kindness you showed to your baby brother made me melt. The small kiss on the forehead, the careful flirting, the way your eyes lit up every time you held him close… it was impossible not to feel the thoughts of you looking at each other. There is already a deep bond growing between you both, and it was so beautiful to see your nurturing heart shine through every moment.

But quietly intertwined throughout this episode was also the love of your dear sister, Meira.

Although Meira is not in these pictures, her presence is still felt in the family. This kind of love never ends. It changes shape, it settles in hearts, it becomes part of how a family laughs, hopes, grieves, and loves moving forward. Your family respects him a lot. There was no thought of forgetting. Instead, it was like holding his legacy close and allowing joy to bloom again. And honestly, this kind of love is one of the most powerful things I’ve ever seen.

Your family’s story is a great reminder that sadness and happiness can coexist. That healing does not take away love. The fact that God’s faithfulness is still felt even after unimaginable heartbreak. I continued to think about the text of Psalm 34:18 which says: “Jehovah is close to those who are brokenhearted, and saves those who have a truly repentant spirit.” And yet somehow, amidst all the kindness, there was so much laughter, warmth, and light filling your home.

Watching your family together is like witnessing courage wrapped in calmness. Your children are surrounded by a lot of intentional love, and it is clear that they are growing up in a family filled with deep faith, compassion, and appreciation for every moment together.

I already know there are many beautiful heads ahead for this sweet couple. Most importantly, little hands reaching for you, siblings laughing in the house, and many reminders that love endures. It was such an honor to write for you this season, and I can’t wait to watch your beautiful family grow throughout the years to come.

Sweet Luke, already loved. And sweet Meira, your legacy continues to shine through each person in this beautiful family.
